]]> Wed Jan 7 2009 Southampton morning report Thursday 25th March 1993! http://robbosphotos.fotopic.net/c1632086.html Having completed a 12 hour nightshift in Romsey at 7.30 that morning I decided to pop down to Mount Pleasant for an hour or so to see if any Cromptons would show on the Eastleigh-Meldon ballast empties only to be dissapointed!. However looking back now 15 years or so later I am glad I recorded most of the traffic on what was a fairly typical morning. No slammers, HSTs or light engine moves were recorded or photted and the Furzebrook gas traffic was not running during this period due to mainteance work @ Wytch Farm as I recall. An afternoon Manchester - Poole inter regional working crosses the New Forest near Beaulieu Road 47304 passes Marchwood returning from Fawley with the Hays chemical trip, it would pick up a brake van @ Totton which was barred from using the branch for some unknown reason. Ex-Straford grey roof 47100 'Merlin' heads down the goods loop for the western docks, with a special BOC tanks working which would have originated @ Ditton on Merseyside. It would have been conveyed by Speedlink trunk services as far as Eastleigh. This trip lasted for around 6 weeks and was a result of a fault in the Liquid Oxygen plant @ Fawley from memory.
